  பாலக்காடு என்கிற ஊர் பிரபலம் ஆவதற்கு சிவாஜி கணேசனும் காரணம் எனலாம்.   I am relieved! After much deliberation & thought, I decided to exit the Whatsapp Group that was created by one of my classmates in school. I had been part of this group for quite a while and was shocked at how behaviors of some of the group members (yes, yes,  they were my classmates in school!) were anything but inclusive. Rather than collecting birthdays of all members in the group and having a practice of wishing all of us,  there were s elective birthday greetings - often based on the current status of that individual!  The Whatsapp group almost resembled like an elitist group where people who were (supposedly) globe trotters exchanged greetings,  wishes and shared the success stories of their children with wahs wahs from other members. Shockingly, the accolades were also given selectively.   சமீபத்தில் ஒரு கல்யாணத்திற்காகப் பாலக்காடு செல்ல நேரிட்டது. ரொம்ப நெருங்கிய சொந்தம். பாலக்காடு பக்கத்தில் நூரணி என்கிற சிறிய ஊர். கல்யாண மண்டபம் அக்ராஹாரத்தின் நுழை வாயிலில் இருந்தது. இரவு பத்தரை மணிக்கு பேருந்து - பெங்களூரில் இருந்து. படுத்தவுடன் தூக்கம் அவ்வளவாக வரவில்லை. ஆனாலும் விடிகாலை ஐந்து மணிக்கெல்லாம் சந்திரா நகர் என்கிற இடம் வந்து விட்டது. அங்கிருந்து ஆட்டோ பிடித்தோம். ஒரே கட்டணம் தான் .. பேரம் எல்லாம் கிடையாது. பத்து நிமிட பிரயாணத்துக்கு நூற்றி ஐம்பது ரூபாய். மண்டபத்தில் இறங்கினதுமே ஒருவர் காபி காபி என்று கூவிக்கொண்டே வந்தார். சற்றே இளைப்பாறியதும் பல் துலக்கி காபி குடித்துவிட்டு குளிக்கப்போனோம். ரொம்பவே சிம்பிள் ஆக, ஆடம்பரம் எதுவும் இல்லாமல் நிறைவாக நடந்தேறியது திருமணம். சில பல குறைகள் நிச்சயம் இருந்தன. ஆனால் அனைவரும் தங்களுக்குள் முணுமுணுத்துக்கொண்டார்களே ஒழிய, சபையில் சண்டை போட்டு, கலவரம் பண்ணி, அதிகாரத்தை பறைசாற்றி, குழப்பத்தை உண்டு பண்ணவில்லை. சொல்லப்போனால் மதிய சாப்பாடு போது ஐஸ் கிரீம் மற்றும் குலாப் ஜாமுன் இருந்தது என்றே தெரியாது. பெங்களூர் திரும்பிய பின்னர் தான்...

  There is absolutely no doubt that there is something special about directors like Bharathiraja and K Balachander when it comes to innovative thinking and exemplary creativity. But strangely, with age, their creativity seems to be going towards a downward spiral. Notwithstanding this fact, none can deny the impact Bharathiraja’s movies had on Tamil speaking audiences. His oeuvre is indeed vast. The redoubtable Bharathiraja is a legend in his own right who brought his own brand of cinema in Tamil movies and succeeded. His brilliance remains unmatched and so is his versatility. The same director who made “Pathinaru Vayathinile” was equally adept in filming murder mysteries and thrillers like “Tik Tik Tik” and “Sigappu Rojakal”.   பாலகுரு என்பவர் இயக்கிய படம். 1979 இல் வெளி வந்து வெற்றிகரமாக ஓடிய படம் இது. பதினாறு வயதினிலே படம் எடுத்த எஸ் எ ராஜ்கண்ணு தயாரித்த படம். ஒரு சென்சிடிவ் இஸ்ஸுவை நல்ல விதமாக கையாண்டதற்காகப் பாராட்டியே ஆக வேண்டும். சுப்பைய்யா கிராமத்து முரட்டுக்காளை. ராஜேஷ் நன்கு நடித்து உள்ளார். பாத்திரத்துக்கு ஏற்ப சரியான தேர்வு. அப்பா அம்மா இல்லாத அனாதை. கிராமத்தில் சுப்பையாவுக்கு நெருங்கிய தோழன் சீனு (பாக்யராஜ்). சீனு வெளியூரில் படிப்பை முடித்து விட்டு கிராமத்துக்கு திரும்புகிறான். சீனுவின் அப்பா நாட்டு மருத்துவர் ஜி ஸ்ரீனிவாசன் (இவர் டான்ஸ் மாஸ்டர் புலியூர் சரோஜாவின் வாழ்க்கைத்துணை). அந்த காலக்கட்டத்தில் இவர் நிறையப்படங்களில் அப்பா ரோலில் நடித்து உள்ளார். கிழக்கே போகும் ரயிலில் சுதாகருக்கு அப்பா இவர் தான். கண்ணம்மாவாக வாழ்ந்து உள்ளார் வடிவுக்கரசி. சுப்பையா மேல் காதல் கொள்வதும் அதை சொல்ல முடியாமல் தவிப்பதும் ச்வராஸ்யமாக இருக்கிறது என்றால் அது மிகை இல்லை. தமிழ்க் கதாநாயகிளில் வடிவுக்கரசி வித்யாசனமாவர். நல்ல உயரம். களையான முகம் - கருப்பு நிறமாக இருந்தாலும். முதலில் சுப்பையா கண்ணம்மாவிடம் புயல...

  சில வருடங்களுக்கு முன்பு என்னுடன் பள்ளிக்கூடத்தில் படித்த சக நண்பன் என்னுடன் தொலைபேசியில் தொடர்பு கொண்டான். அவன் இப்போது வேலை பார்ப்பது ibm கம்பெனியில் - அமெரிக்காவில். வீட்டில் அனைவரும் பாம்பே சென்று இருந்ததால் என்னால் முடிந்த அளவுக்கு மாக்கி நூடுல்ஸ் மற்றும் தயிர் சாதம் தயார் செய்தேன். அவன் வருவதற்கு முன்பு ஜீவன் பீமா நகரில் இருந்த ஒரு உணவு விடுதியில் மஞ்சூரியன் ஆர்டர் செய்து போய் வாங்கி வந்தேன். சுவாரஸ்யமாக பேசினோம். பழைய நினைவுகளை அசை போட்டோம். மறக்க முடியாத பள்ளிக்கூட நாட்களை நினைத்த போது தொண்டையில் எதுவோ அடைத்த மாதிரி ஒரு பீலிங் வந்ததென்னவோ நிஜம். அவன் கிளம்பும் போது கீழ் வந்து அவனைக்காரில் ஏற்றி விட்டு வீடு திரும்பினேன். அவனுக்கோ சம்பளம் எக்கச்சக்கம் - நானோ கல்லூரி பேராசிரியர். ஏணி வைத்தாலும் எட்ட முடியாது தான். மிக இளம் வயதிலேயே கல்வித்துறையைத்தேர்ந்து எடுத்தது எனக்கு ஆழ் மனதில் வருத்தமே. கார்பொரேட் துறையில் வேலை பார்த்தவர்களுக்கு ஆசிரியர் தொழில் என்றால் கொஞ்சம் ஏமாற்றமே மிஞ்சும். இரண்டு தொழில்களையும் ஒப்பிடவே முடியாது. சம்பளம் ரொம்ப ரொம்ப சுமார் தான்- -கல்லூரிகளில். சில ...
